Every plan includes spam protection, Free included.
Formshield, our machine-learning filter, keeps spam out of your inbox, with built-in support for reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha, and Cloudflare Turnstile, a honeypot field, and domain restrictions. From Professional, you can tune its sensitivity and block whole categories.

Formspree works with any frontend: HTML, AJAX, or React.
Point a plain HTML form at your endpoint, submit without a page reload using the @formspree/ajax library (it even works cross-origin), or use the useForm hook from @formspree/react. AJAX works on every plan, Free included.

Formspree is SOC 2 Type II audited, and GDPR and CCPA compliant.
An independent auditor carries out our SOC 2 audit, and the report is available on request. Submissions are encrypted in transit with TLS 1.2 or higher, and at rest with AES-256. The full picture is on our security page.
Compare Formspree head-to-head with the alternatives
Every form needs somewhere to go.
When someone hits submit, something has to catch that submission, filter out the spam, store it, and get it to you. Formspree does that. So does every alternative. What changes is who builds it, who hosts it, and who fixes it when it breaks.
There are three ways to handle it: use a form builder, build it yourself, or use another form endpoint. Here's when each one makes sense.
A form builder works if you never want to touch the code.
A drag-and-drop form builder can be the right choice for teams without a developer on hand, or that aren't comfortable working with AI coding agents. You can get a functional form up pretty quickly, and for small projects like a short survey or one-off contact form, it works fine.
The trade-off is that you're typically limited to the fields and layouts the form builder provides, and you usually have to pay to remove their branding. Probably fine for a quick survey, but less fine for a form that's supposed to collect leads for your business.
Building it yourself is best if your data can't leave your servers.
If submissions genuinely can't leave your own servers because of real compliance rules or data residency requirements, building it yourself makes sense. That's the one thing no hosted service can offer, us included.
But keeping submissions arriving reliably for years to come is a real job. You'd be on the hook for a lot of things, and the list is long:
- An endpoint that stays up
- Somewhere to store submissions
- Backups and data export
- A sending domain and its reputation
- Bounce and complaint handling
- Spam filtering that keeps up with bots
- Rate limiting and abuse protection
- Server-side validation
- Retries when delivery fails
- Deletion requests
- Someone on call when it breaks
Your coding agent can scaffold most of this list in an afternoon, and when something breaks, it can probably help you fix it. But agents only work when prompted. So if sender reputation drifts, or bots get past the spam filters, or submissions quietly stop arriving, it's on you to notice.
Another form endpoint is an option too.
Plenty of them do the job. Your form posts to their URL, and they handle what happens after someone submits. Some give you an inbox, some push submissions to other tools, some do both. Some give you layered spam protection, some let you route submissions to different destinations, some do both. Feature parity is pretty close across the board these days. The real difference is how well they do it, and for how long.
Deliverability reputation takes years to build. Spam filtering is an arms race that never ends. Integrations rot unless someone maintains them. The feature grids all look the same; the track records don't. Which brings us to our honest suggestion.
Just use Formspree.
You found this page because you were looking for Formspree alternatives, not the other way around. Tools in this category get compared to us for a reason. And since switching endpoints is a one-line change, every Formspree customer could leave tomorrow. They stay.
They stay because deliverability rides on sending reputation, and ours is over a decade in the making. They stay because spam filtering is won with training data, and we handle over 5 million submissions every month. They stay because integrations are only useful if they work, and ours do: we maintain them and the code that keeps them working. And they stay because we care about privacy and security as much as they do, and we have the SOC 2 Type II audits and GDPR and CCPA compliance to prove it.
The bill is simple, too: plans scale from your first contact form up to enterprise volume with an SLA, every tier has unlimited forms and projects, and your form never carries our logo. And the money goes where you'd want it to: the sending reputation, the spam model, the integration upkeep. You're paying for that whole list to be someone else's job.
We think you should own the form, and we're happy to handle the rest. That way you can focus on your own work, not the work of keeping a form working.
Questions you might still be asking
How hard is it to switch?
Usually one line. Most form services work the same way: you change the form’s action attribute to point somewhere new. Your field names stay exactly as they are, and nothing else about the page changes.
Do I need to know how to code?
You need a form on your site, but you do not have to write the backend. Many people building with AI coding tools hand the whole setup to their agent. Point it at formspree.io/ai and it designs the fields and connects everything.
Does Formspree work with my website builder?
Yes. Any site that can show an HTML form works, and there are step-by-step guides for Framer, Squarespace, WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Angular, and Next.js.
Will my form have Formspree branding on it?
No. The form is your own markup on your own page, so there is nothing of ours on it. On the Free plan, people who submit see a Formspree thank-you page; paid plans let you send them to your own page instead.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Free includes unlimited forms, 50 submissions a month, spam filtering, and notifications by email, Slack, Discord, Telegram, or WhatsApp. Paid plans start at $15 a month, raise the limit to 200, 2,000, or 20,000 submissions, and add file uploads, app integrations, and your own thank-you page.
What happens if I go over my monthly limit?
Nothing gets lost. Your forms keep accepting submissions, and Formspree saves the extras to an Over Limit folder and emails you. Upgrade, and you can reprocess them to send the notifications and run your integrations.
Can I export my submissions?
Yes, from the Personal plan: export every submission as CSV or JSON from your Formspree inbox. On Free, submissions stay in your inbox for 30 days. On every plan, they’re also emailed to you and sent to any connected integrations.
