Announcing the ActiveCampaign Plugin for Formspree
Connect your forms directly to ActiveCampaign CRM and marketing automation platform with our new plugin
ActiveCampaign is one of the most powerful CRM and marketing automation platforms out there. Now, you can connect it directly to your Formspree forms.
With our new ActiveCampaign plugin, every form submission can automatically create or update a contact in your ActiveCampaign account — no custom backend, middleware, or extra scripts required.
Turn Form Submissions into CRM Contacts
Forms are often the first touchpoint in your funnel. A newsletter signup. A demo request. A lead magnet. A waitlist.
Until now, teams either stitched together webhooks and API calls or relied on external automation tools to move that data into ActiveCampaign. This plugin removes that step entirely.
When connected:
- A new submission creates a contact if one doesn’t exist.
- Existing contacts are updated instead of duplicated.
- Selected lists are applied automatically.
- Tags are added to help with segmentation.
- Matching custom fields are synced seamlessly.
Your marketing automation can trigger immediately after submission, without manual imports or extra glue code.
Flexible Field Mapping (Without the Setup Headache)
You stay in control of your frontend. Any HTML form works as long as it includes the fields you want to send. The plugin supports the following special fields:
- Email (required)
- Name (full or first/last)
- Phone
- Tags (comma-separated)
In addition to these, Formspree automatically matches submission keys to your ActiveCampaign custom field titles, so you don’t have to manually map everything one by one.
It’s simple enough for a basic newsletter signup, but flexible enough for more advanced lead capture workflows.
Easy to Connect
Setup takes just a few minutes — consistent with how straightforward the plugin itself is to use.
From your form’s Workflow tab, add the ActiveCampaign plugin and enter your API URL and API token from ActiveCampaign (found under Settings → Developer). Then choose the list you’d like new contacts to subscribe to, or leave it empty if you prefer not to auto-subscribe.
That’s it. For more details, see the full setup guide.
Less Integration Work. More Automation.
Formspree has always focused on removing backend complexity from forms. The ActiveCampaign plugin continues that approach by letting your forms plug directly into your CRM and automation engine.
If you’re already using ActiveCampaign, you can enable the plugin today and start syncing contacts instantly. Give it a try and let us know what you build.
